A Secret Service officer was arrested Monday in Miami on a charge of indecent exposure, local authorities said, hours after he finished a security assignment near President Donald Trump.
The 33-year-old officer was arrested while he was off duty following a detail Sunday on the perimeter of the Trump National Doral in Miami. The president was inside attending the PGA Tour’s Cadillac Championship tournament.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of “a white male naked in the hallway of the 6th floor of the hotel,” according to the arrest report.
Police said they found the Secret Service officer “masturbating at the end of the hallway” upon arriving to the scene, according to the arrest report. A woman staying at the hotel told authorities the officer had followed her to her room on the sixth floor from the hotel lobby, according to the report.
“The victim advised they immediately entered their room because she was in fear for their lives,” the report said. “The victim saw the defendant masturbating next to their hotel room.”
Hotel security told police they also witnessed the officer’s behavior on the sixth floor of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Miami Airport & Convention Center.
The officer was charged with one count of indecent exposure and booked into the Miami-Dade County Jail on a $1,000 bond on Monday, according to online jail records.
The Secret Service and the White House did not immediately respond to MS NOW’s request for comment.
Richard Macauley, chief of the U.S. Secret Service Police, told CNBC that the officer had been placed on administrative leave pending the criminal case and an internal investigation.
“The alleged conduct is unacceptable and stands in stark contrast to the professionalism and integrity that I demand of our personnel,” Macauley said.
