OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Voting is now open to the public for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s snowplow naming contest.
ODOT has received hundreds of creative snowplow names from K-12 students across Oklahoma. Now the public can vote on the names that will be given to the 24 snowplows that treat Oklahoma’s roads in the winter.
“ODOT crews work around the clock in winter storms to keep highways safe,” said Caitlyn Carolus, contest manager and ODOT Traffic Operations Center Program Manager. “This contest is a fun way to connect students and families to that mission, while letting Oklahomans put their own stamp on the snowplows they see clearing roads in their communities.”
Voting begins Monday, September 29 and closes Friday, October 3. The winners will be announced Friday, October 12.
ODOT will also be launching the snowplow tracking site that allows the public to see where each snowplow is working during Oklahoma’s winter weather.
