OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Your defending NBA champs, the Oklahoma City Thunder are getting ready to hit the court in a few weeks.

Fans will notice several new things as well when they step foot inside the Paycom Center.

“We are rolling out the blue carpet and that includes some of the best food that you will get in any NBA arena,” Gayle Maxwell, Thunder Spokesperson said.

Following the Thunder bringing home their first NBA championship, the team is promising better-tasting food options this year.

“We’re keeping it local, which is great. You know? So, championship city, championship food,” one fan said.

The Thunder are looking to please some different taste buds this season.

“We’re doing three different kinds of Philly cheesesteak,” Syed Kahn, Executive Chef at the Paycom Center said. “You have the steak, we have the chicken, then we have the barbecue brisket. Then for the healthy lovers, it’s a chicken bacon ranch wrap.”

Vendors providing a local touch with a sprinkle of championship seasoning.

“Everything is house made, everything’s made from scratch,” Kahn said.

There are many tasty options to wash it down with.

“We’ve got 26 flavors,” Layne Jones, Owner of HTeaO local franchise said. “We will feature 6 to 7 flavors each game. There’s something for everybody, sweet, non sweet.”

There will also be some new experiences for fans to enjoy.

“We actually have a customization station so you can pick up your a hat, t-shirt, jersey, whatever it is, and you can get it customized,” Maxwell said.

So, whether you plan to attend the game for the food and drinks, or the fun the arena has to offer, Thunder fans have plenty to look forward to this upcoming season.

“I think this year, we have to step it up, right, because we’re number one in the world and we’ve got to show them that, just like the basketball team, the food is also number one here,” Kahn said.
