THOMAS, Okla. (KFOR) — Strong allegations are coming out against a small Oklahoma town’s high school football program.

Thomas PD and OSBI are now looking into allegations that a boy was sexually assaulted by some members of the team.

The parent I spoke to said the incident took place earlier this week after football practice.

Now, they are worried the boys who allegedly did this will not be held accountable.

“On September 23rd, around 4:30 p.m., the Thomas Police Department requested the OSBI to investigate a possible sexual assault at a school district there in Thomas,” Hunter McKee with OSBI said.

The Thomas-Fay-Custer High School football program is now under the spotlight.

“It is still an ongoing investigation,” McKee said.

We spoke with a parent who was too scared to go on camera for fear of retaliation.

They told us multiple football players were involved, but only two were suspended.

“We can’t identify or release names that are involved, but it is something that we are actively looking into at this time,” McKee said.

The school’s homecoming was on Friday, and the parent believes the boys involved were still going to attend.

We reached out to the district with questions on Thursday.

The superintendent got back to us on Friday.

“As we look ahead to our Homecoming festivities, I want to take a moment to address an incident that took place on our high school campus on Monday, September 22, involving a small number of students.

While state and federal privacy laws prevent me from sharing specific details. I can say that school administrators responded immediately once aware of the situation. We conducted an investigation, reported the matter as required, and have been working closely with responding authorities. The district has taken appropriate actions in line with our policy, and we are continuing to fully corporate with the ongoing investigation.

We understand that school safety continues to be at the forefront of everyone’s mind, and I want to reassure our students, families and staff that safety is always top priority. I hope the district’s swift response to this incident provides reassurance that we take all reports seriously, and I encourage anyone who witnesses or experiences inappropriate or unsafe conduct at school to speak up and report it to school personnel or administration.

As we move forward, I ask for your continued support of our students, staff and schools. Together, we can ensure that our campus remains a safe, respectful and welcoming place for all students and patrons.”

The concerned parent worries there won’t be any accountability.

“The investigation will be provided to the District Attorney’s office in that county once the investigation is complete,” McKee said. “We’ll decide on charges, if there are charges moving forward.”

As of Friday night, OSBI said the investigation is still ongoing.

This is a developing story.
