Bloomberg tech reporter Riley Griffin joined “Morning Joe” today to talk about how data center construction is playing out in one town in Louisiana.
In her latest, Griffin chronicles how rural northeast Louisiana has become ground zero for the AI infrastructure boom as Meta Platforms builds “Hyperion,” one of the world’s largest AI data centers, in impoverished Richland Parish. “Hyperion” is expected to use energy comparable to New York City’s winter electricity consumption and will be supported by 10 new gas-fired power plants.
