El Reno water crisis raises concern over Oklahoma law limiting local regulation of Bitcoin mines

After an illegally operating Bitcoin mine drained millions of gallons from El Reno’s water supply last month, a News 4 investigation found an Oklahoma law billed as bringing regulation to the growing industry did little to prevent it—and instead limits what cities can do to regulate Bitcoin mines themselves.
