Milo Yiannopoulos, the far-right provocateur and supporter-turned-critic of President Donald Trump, was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Thursday, the Department of Homeland Security announced.
The British native was arrested at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Kenner, DHS said in a post on X. According to the department, Yiannopoulos “legally entered the country on May 14, 2019, through New York City, New York. He chose to overstay his welcome in violation of our nation’s laws.”
An immigration judge issued Yiannopoulos a final order of removal after the 41-year-old failed to show up for his immigration hearing, DHS wrote. He will remain in ICE custody pending removal, according to the department.
The Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to MS NOW’s request for comment.
