Milo Yiannopoulos, a far-right provocateur, former editor of right-wing news site Breitbart News and former supporter of President Donald Trump, has been deported to the United Kingdom, the Department of Homeland Security said Saturday.
Yiannopoulos was removed from the U.S. to his home country on Friday, according to the DHS. He was arrested by immigration officials at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport the day before.
The department said Yiannopoulos entered the country legally on May 14, 2019, but overstayed his visa. He was issued a final order of removal on July 22 after failing to attend his immigration hearing, DHS said.
Yiannopoulos was a vociferous supporter of Trump and his immigration policies. He fell out of favor with the MAGA faithful after video clips of him appearing to condone pedophilia circulated on the internet in 2017.
The backlash also led to his resignation from Breitbart.
