OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The Oklahoma City Police Department is reminding residents to secure their weapons.
As of September 26, 317 guns have been stolen from vehicles, additionally citing 210 guns were stolen from unlocked vehicles.
As a result, police say, the numbers reveal a real danger for communities with every gun stolen.
Authorities suggest the best ways to incorporate prevention, securing your weapon, as follows:
- Always lock your vehicle
- Never leave a firearm inside your vehicle overnight
